Unpacking the structural features of a recount using the big PM exemplar books.
- What comes first in this writing?
- What does the yellow bit tell us? If this was a description - what would the first bit be called?
- Discuss the structure of a Recount (title, introduction, sequence, evaluation) I have changed some of the titles to line up with the description features to help the kids make a better connection between the text types.
- What words tell us when things happened?
- Emphasize that events should be set in a sequence using time connectives.
- Link the PLAN (top right) to the PM exemplar.
